JTA is working on several CSG projects in Queensland's Surat and Bowen Basins, and in New South Wales' Gunnedah Basin, to generate awareness of this new industry, as well as field development and CSG extraction processes, and to ensure stakeholder issues are captured and addressed by project proponents.
We also deliver strategic consultation advice and services on major CSG and liquified natural gas (LNG) projects.
JTA manages community engagement, consultation and communication for the environmental impact statements of Arrow Energy's upstream coal seam gas projects in Queensland's Surat and Bowen Basins as it did previously for the Santos GLNG.
The Surat exploration and development project stretches from Wandoan to Dalby in the Western Downs and south to Millmerran and Goondiwindi. The Bowen project area covers Proserpine to Marlborough on the east coast and Moranbah in the west.
JTA also provides strategic advice on Arrow Energy's wider community engagement activities (in central, northern and southern Queensland as well as northern New South Wales) and delivers a range of services to support effective consultation processes and practices, and internal skills development.
These include intensive training for land agents, advice on best practice corporate engagement policies and systems, and development of an appropriate evaluation methodology.
JTA delivered community engagement services and information in Gunnedah as part of the Apollo Energy/Arrow Energy joint venture’s coal seam gas exploration program, to identify the character and extent of the resource.
Community information sessions were conducted at the request of the Gunnible Landcare Group and as part of a program of local community and stakeholder engagement, enabling residents to access project specialists and receive information.
JTA has been involved with the Santos NSW exploration program since 2008, through managing and supporting a range of communication and consultation activities. The exploration area covers Gunnedah, Coonabarabran, Quirindi and Scone communities in New South Wales, including the Liverpool Plains, a high value agricultural district.
JTA continues to manage a comprehensive consultation database, liaising with the community and Santos project team to ensure concerns and issues are addressed.
